The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the latest foldable phone from Samsung, and it's set to be released on August 11, 2023. The phone is rumored to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. It will also have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the outside and a 7.6-inch AMOLED display on the inside. The camera lineup is expected to remain the same as last year's model, with a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP telephoto camera.

One of the biggest changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the upgraded hinge. The new hinge is said to be stronger and more durable, and it will also allow the phone to close completely flat. This will make the foldable feel thinner and more pocket-friendly.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 looks like a promising device. It has a powerful processor, a large and versatile display, and a durable hinge. If you're looking for a high-end foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a great option.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5:

Pros:

Galaxy Fold

Hello everyone.

I am very interested in getting a Samsung Galaxy Z fold (4 or might wait for 5) as my next smartphone but are they worth it?

Apparently there is a lot of issues with the screens that break easily or that often need to be replaced after not even one year. Is that true? Is there anything I need to know before deciding or be careful about when buying one?

Any advice is very welcome.

I've had every fold since the 3 as well as the flip. I've not experienced any problems. I feel they are worth every penny.

I came from the note line. Went from a note 20 ultra to a fold 4. Then traded in for a fold 5 . I absolutely lovvveeee the fold 5. I haven't had any issues at all with the device. I believe once you get used to having a small tablet in your pocket, there is no going back to a traditional phone. The only negative would be that Samsung doesn't give you the top of the line cameras. Don't get me wrong. The camera is great on the fold 5 , but I really miss the,I call it the moon zoom lol. The screen when closed is a bit narrow but I got used to it really quick. I open the phone to it's glory most of the time.
Definitely but a quality case. I love this case. 1701522653789.jpg

My personal opinion is that with any new technology or complex equipment, it's wise to get insurance, be it carrier, Samsung Care+ or an attachment to your home insurance.

The phone is great and works very well but it is new technology.   I opted for the Care+

As an example, I purchased a Ram Limited truck and for only the 2nd time in my rather long life I also got the extended warranty.  I got it not because I was worried about the engine or the normal truck parts, but because this truck has tons of electronics including air ride and $1500 each LED headlights to name a few and rolling the warranty cost in with the truck purchase seemed like a wise decision.

I don't see myself going back to a candy bar phone, I love my Fold5

If you can keep your for phone for 2 years and expect not to keep it more than 2 years and also you got a good Samsung service repair center and if you can afford the Samsung care+ 2 years warranty then Fold 4 is worth it. If not then don't buy it. You need to have those 3 conditions to be satisfied otherwise don't buy it. According to the Samsung service center, a 2 to 3-inch fall of your unit will cause faster wear and tear of your fold internal parts especially the hinge and the flex. It might not show the effect immediately but surely within the year, it will be a paperweight if you don't have insurance.

I love it. Makes thing easier to read. Multi-Screens are better. Can use them easy with youtube and music when you unfold to 45 degree angles. Refresh rate and display is nice.

fold 5 is nice with the new hinge but could wait to see what 6 will bring with the new gen3 processor and maybe dust resistant. Don't get the 4.
