Galaxy S PhonesSIM cards are tied to your phone with the IMEI number on the sim card itself. The only way to use your phone with your new service is to reach out to your carrier to have them send you a new SIM card.
I hope that answers your question.

Galaxy S Phones@Tonigbagir You will need to reach out to T-Mobile and ask them to carrier unlock your phone.

Galaxy S PhonesYou need a new sim card for one. Then you need to meet t mobile unlock requirements which is to have bought the phone directly from t mobile and used it on the network for at least a year. It has to be paid off as well. If you don't meet those requirements they will never unlock it and even if you do it is unlikely.
If you meet the requirements and are still on T-Mobile network as a paying customer then you have a chance otherwise forget it.
I spent over a month trying to get an iPhone unlocked and I met all of their requirements but one. I bought the phone through BestBuy. Never got it unlocked.
I would sell it and buy an unlocked phone next time. Carrier locked phones can be a good deal until you want to leave the carrier.
Good luck either way.

Galaxy S Phones@Kcscott99 If it was locked on straight talk, then you will need to work with straight talk to get it unlocked. Typically a carrier requires you to have the phone completely paid off and may require a certain length of active service on their network.
