Good afternoon @Tonigbagir, I hope you're doing well.

SIM cards are tied to your phone with the IMEI number on the sim card itself. The only way to use your phone with your new service is to reach out to your carrier to have them send you a new SIM card.

I hope that answers your question.

I'm having a heck of a time with mine too. Spectrum has sent me two. After working on it all week we've come to the conclusion that att still hasent unlocked my phone. They have gave me bogus pins that don't work, hung me up, and wouldn't let me speak to the real supervisors, when I got extremely upset on the phone, there's nothing they can do going one excuse after another, she new nothing. The store same thing can't do it. I bought my phone outright, paid 38 dollars a month on card no payment plan, their seriously, holding me hostage.

@Tonigbagir You will need to reach out to T-Mobile and ask them to carrier unlock your phone.

T-Mobile usually install an app on their phones that you can use to carrier/network unlock your phone. Look for Unlock app - magenta color. If the app is not on phone, call T-Mobile, like @LongHiker said assuming phone is paid off.

If you are using another carrier and have already canceled your service with T mobile you are going to have a very tough time unlocking the phone to use with another carrier.

You need a new sim card for one. Then you need to meet t mobile unlock requirements which is to have bought the phone directly from t mobile and used it on the network for at least a year. It has to be paid off as well. If you don't meet those requirements they will never unlock it and even if you do it is unlikely.

If you meet the requirements and are still on T-Mobile network as a paying customer then you have a chance otherwise forget it.

I spent over a month trying to get an iPhone unlocked and I met all of their requirements but one. I bought the phone through BestBuy. Never got it unlocked.

I would sell it and buy an unlocked phone next time. Carrier locked phones can be a good deal until you want to leave the carrier.

Good luck either way.

Hello everyone I was with t-mobile for 10 years I bought countless phones from them and I paid $1500 for my note20 ultra and had a very hard time getting it unlocked you must buy an unlocked phone from the jump they hate to loose a customer

I thought I had lost my phone (galaxy 12) so I went and bought a new phone (galaxy a13) both on the straight talk network. Found my old phone and gave it to a friend. Straight talk says its locked even though I bought and paid for both phones . How do I get it unlocked? Straight talk wants 150.00 which is more than I initially paid for it

@Kcscott99 If it was locked on straight talk, then you will need to work with straight talk to get it unlocked. Typically a carrier requires you to have the phone completely paid off and may require a certain length of active service on their network.
