Hey all,

I have a Samsung S22 Ultra & a Galaxy Tab S7+. My home network is Wifi 6E, but only the S22 can connect to 6E networks. The tablet can only connect to wifi 6.

Whenever I disconnect & reconnect my tablet from wifi it will reconnect to the wifi 6 network, but shortly after I notice my phone will have switched from being on the wifi 6E network, to the same regular non-E wifi 6 network as the S7+ Tablet.

I tried playing with auto-reconnect with no luck, & all it does is make it a bit more of an unnecessary hassle in the first place. I can't find where this "feature" is located so I can turn the  thing off. I understand why they probably did it, but I feel they should've made it clearer as a user configurable/enabled feature instead of "Nanny Samsung doing what's best for you". Sorry, just a bit annoyed.

Anyone know what I'm talking about, or know if there's a fix or setting to disable this "feature"? I can't seem to find real solutions anywhere myself, & Google isn't turning up a ton of help.

Thanks for any help šŸ™ƒ

I will one up you....I was having a problem with my phone not connecting to my network which is at&t. Went through tech support and they said it was my Sim card. So new Sim card everything is working fine and 4 days layover it goes out again. Weird I travel and get tower switches so I know it is not one tower being a problem....than I noticed this so I took a screenshot...Screenshot_20230911_225048_One UI Home.jpg

I used to use AT&T, but switched to Google Fi for the last, jeez almost 10 years now. They use T-Mobile & Sprint towers. It's not as fast as AT&T in the best locations, but it has better coverage in my area, which is far more important. Plus, it's a helluva lot cheaper.

For your issue, you probably looked at roaming in cellular options? I know if you have that little box ticked, it will connect to anything it can on GSM or CDMA or whatever protocol ATT uses. However it is roaming so it's probably super expensive.

I know you can do just network resets on the phone without doing full flashes of the phone & OS itself, that may shake things back to normal. Worst case scenario you can back everything up and just factory reset the phone & hope it fixes it.

Sadly I've digged through most of what I can for my problem, and think it has something to do with the Samsung apps or the Samsung Sync features between devices, since the phone & tablet are both Samsung. It's still so stupid that the thing forces my phone to switch networks without me telling it to. Insanely frustrating.

Thanks for the info, I will keep it in my mind.

I understand your frustration with the Wi-Fi network switching behavior. Try forgetting unwanted networks, disabling auto-switching, and setting static IPs.
