What happened to the camera scanner?

What happened to camera scanner? I used to be able to scan all pictures, even without any text like my kids art or old printed photos. Now it only looks for documents with text. There is no manual scan mode. Even if I'm able to scan, it will now say "no text detected" and dismiss the scan. Another update that made the tool worst. I can scan everything I want with cloud tools like Google drive or Microsoft one drive, and bunch others, but not with bult in camera like before. It was so convinient. Please bring it back or tell me how to do what I need. Thanks!

Why would you need to scan a picture when you can just take a picture of it?

So I have a nice rectangular and stretched aka scanned version of that picture.

Like a computer scanner. It's a great feature for scanning documents and receipts for work, but I've also been using it to scan old printed photos and other stuff

Oh OK why not do normal picture of it on phone the scan wouldn't do much different

It does stretch corners to create nice rectangular picture without background. Manual cropping doesn't do the job

Open your camera and click on the gear icon and make sure it's still toggled on Then you should just have to hold the phone over the image and the box will show up at least it does on my S24

It is, and it works for me as well, but only on pictures/documents with text. It used to work on any piece of paper or rectangular shape. It would pick four corners, which I could adjust manually and then save as a picture.

Strange i was able to do a few diff. kinds of paper just now and it put yellow lines that I could move then click scan at the bottom
