Apps seem glitchy after update Samsung Galaxy A53 5G

I'm in need of some advice. I just got the Galaxy A53 5G phone on December of 2022 and I loved how smooth the apps opened and transitioned. I just did the latest software update on February 20, 2023 which promised "smoother transitions for a more natural feel" and I thought how could it get any better? Well it's because it didn't - for some reason after updating my software, the time from tapping on an app to open it has increased and seems "blocky" if that makes sense. It just seems glitchy and feels like I am using a lower-end phone now! Has anyone else experienced this and has anyone found a way to fix it? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

The A series is cheaper, therefore samsung doesn't push as many promised updates to them

I can understand that, but I'm just confused on why the update made the phone feel like it reacts with less quality than before updating?

OK so I have the same phone but I got the opposite effect. Try doing a factory reset don't install from a backup.

The A53 gets 4 OS updates and monthly security updates for 5 years. Samsung does an excellent job taking care of it's midrange phones.

They don't. I have a m53 and it's still on January 2023 security patch

Hello, ThirtyxSeven, and welcome to the Community. I can certainly understand the inconvenience and concern with your device running and opening apps more slowly after an update. As mdw22 said, a factory reset can certainly be tried, but it is best to leave this as the last step for troubleshooting. Here's a complete guide on performing that: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

You can try clearing your device's cache partition, which helps device behavior, even after updates. The steps for that are:
β€’ Ensure the device is powered off. If the device is unresponsive/frozen, press and hold the Power button for approximately 10 seconds or until the device power cycles.
β€’ Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Home button.
β€’ While continuing to hold the Home and Volume Up buttons, press and hold the Power button until 'RECOVERY BOOTING' appears in the upper left then release all buttons.
β€’ Select wipe cache partition. Utilize the Volume Up/Down buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.
β€’ Select reboot system now. Option is highlighted, utilize the Power button to select.

If that doesn't help improve the behavior, I would try Safe Mode to see if a third-party application is impacting your A53's performance. This guide will walk you through it: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

I got a update every month through January. Now i haven't received anything since then. And to tell the truth, I'm getting very upset about it. And every time i call T-mobile about it they don't know anything about it, or why or what the problem is. But it's definitely their fault, because others in different countries, and on other cell companies have received updates.
