Beta9 to stable in US

Beta 9 is NOT the same as the stable release in the U.S. It may be for other countries but for the US and Korea, it is not. The build number for US has already changed from BWJM to BWK4. When the US releases the stable version, it will include fixes that the other countries have not received. Expect the build to change again before stable release in US and Korea. Also, branded devices weather unlocked or locked will have to wait for their carriers to release but unbranded devices which are factory unlocked dont need to wait for a carrier no matter what sim is being used. There is a big difference between unlocked and unbranded. Example of unbranded is XAA or FKR regions which come factory unlocked for any carrier. TMB is T-Mobile branded and if its unlocked, its still T-Mobile branded and must wait for TMB to release even if your on att with the unlocked branded device. So, branded devices will have to wait a little longer weather unlocked or not, but unbranded devices will get the stable update as soon as samsung releases it. When exactly that will be, no one knows. But do know that when you do get it, it will have updates that the other stable releases have not received yet. 🖖

This has been my experience with all other years on betas. We always get the update after most countries but it's usually a newer more refined version.

Hi, how do you know if your phone is unbranded I haven't heard that term before.
I bought my phone in the US directly from Samsung and is unlocked.
And then I added my Verizon Sim card in it. Thank you.

More or less carrier branded. But with still being a US phone. It still needs the proper firmware to work with US frequencies. My guess is unlocked direct from Samsung and Tmobile will be the 1st two to get the update.

To know if you have branded or unbranded, goto settings, about phone, software information. Scroll down to service provider software information. There in the last line will say your current carrier and you csc code. If any of these are listed within this line, you are unbranded,
FKR
XAA
XAG
ATC
All those are USA unbranded, unlocked from factory.
All others besides listed here are carrier branded even if unlocked.
Example, mine says ATT/XAA means I have Unbranded, Unlocked on Att network. However, if it had said Att/Att then it would be Att branded no mater if its unlocked or not. 🖖

I have been in Samsung beta test on both branded and unbranded locked and unlocked. In all cases beta testers have been the LAST to get the update to stable once it is released - usually by a week or more.

I was correct. Like you said, they are going to release bug fixes alongside the stable release for the U.S because the U.S is the biggest market and probably the most important.
