I have noticed most times when my phone switches from being on home WiFi and an LTE connection (running Wi-Fi calling) to 5G (not sure if it is only 5G+), SMS messages do not send and error out. My fix is to turn Airplane mode on then off.

I'm not sure if this is a problem in general or related to the OneUI beta.

UPDATE:
In my testing today, it seems to happen when switching between 5G types (i.e. from 5G to 5G+ or LTE to 5G+).

UPDATE2:
I think the issue is with VoNR (Voice over 5G). When I turned this off, the problems seemed to have gone away (so far). I'm on T-Mobile in the US.

UPDATE3:
I spoke too soon. The issue persists.

UPDATE4:
I may be coincidence but so far, I've not hit this issue on beta 2.

Well if I find I'm having issues with 5G I turn it off for awhile and I use 4G. It may be a little bit slower depending but it's still fast. I mean if that can fix the issue why not try it? Most phones have the option to turn it on or off as far as I know. I have the S23 ultra from TMOBILE and I can turn it on or off that's what I would do until the beta testing is over

So why don't you try using 4G only as I said earlier and see if that fixes the problem? I'm on TMOBILE too

So that's weird I don't even have the VoNR option on mine. I'm also on tmobile

Edit: after some research I realized this could be because I have an unlocked s23u not the tmobile variant. Anyone know anything about this or is this a software glitch?

I'm running an unlocked S23 Ultra on T-Mobile. I think T-Mobile is rolling our VoNR regionally. I'm in the NYC area.

That makes sense.. I'm in rural PA. 5G SA is kind of rare around here although oddly, i do have it at home but the two cities near me don't haha.

It might that you're using an unlocked S23U. I have the same phone and I was getting issues before I joined the beta program. It'd be random thought. It might be 2G option, as most carriers have dropped 2G access.

Yes, I am using an unlocked phone. I wish carries and phone manufacturers were able to have unlocked Android phones work like unlocked iPhones do.
