Not about to use my voice to complete a voice command.. It defaults to text and I have to hit the microphone to use my voice. Noticed that pixels are having the same issue..
I experienced this yesterday. The fix is to uninstall the update to Google app, then open the app (it won't connect and will be blank), go through your settings-voice making sure hey Google is on, brows all voice settings turning on what you need, then update the app.
