Android 12 permission notifications are really great at reminding me that Google is accessing the microphone and listening to everything I say, all day long. I guess everything sounds like "OK Google" these days.
That's just it. It really is listening all the time otherwise it wouldn't know when we say OKAY GOOGLE. That indicator is letting us know that we are giving more data than we realized. Data is huge $. š
As @OffDatGoGo mentioned, device has to listen even when you are not saying OK Google in order to recognize you said it. Other option would be to use google assistant by long pressing home key.
