Spotify controls not showing on the AOD and in the notification panel. Have to open phone in order to skip tracks or pause.

Do you have notifications on for Spotify? Same happened to me and had to turn them on and off again.

Yes, I had the same problem with YouTube, try checking the app notification permissions.

Seems, one UI beta revoked all the previous permissions.
I had to go through all the apps again to grant permissions

If you expand the panel notification for Spotify, the track button is there, but is same color as background. If you stab around to will hit it

Samsung Music and YouTube Control Panels don't show on the Lock Screen either.

Please try suggestions from @trancetheman and @hsgr . This was a known issue at launch and has been sent as a Samsung members notice.

Notification was turned off. I missed that. Turned it on and all seems to be working correctly now. Thanks!
