I thought a factory reset set it back to the factory I was asking if redoing a factory reset would erase the beta testing that I'm doing I don't want to erase the beta software but I can see cleaning up the rest of the operating system is this a good idea thank you

I would not do a factory reset during beta. Just clean up memory and cache as much as possible. Daily if needed. Make sure to check for app updates regularly.
I usually try to do a factory reset after every major OS upgrade, not the incrementals and security updates, so I can ensure that whatever issues there may be are with the new OS, completely stock, and not some residuals that may be hiding outside the scope of the Cached system...
Plus, I like to see if there were any changes made during the initial setup process... Makes my phone feel like new again... š¤£
But yes, more often than not, for someone with large amounts of data, etc, a factory reset is *typically* not necessary...
