Mobile Data Always Active Feature

In the developers options I have "Mobile data always active" enabled. With Android 11, this allowed the 5G symbol and wifi symbol showing next to each other next to the battery in the top right. Now with this feature enabled, only the wifi symbol shows. I do not know if this is running as expected but not showing up at the top or if it is not running as it should. I have attached a screenshot to show the missing 5G symbol.
