there have been multiple issues with chat related mostly on Google messages probably something to do with the beta and if you notice a lot of Google apps do not work currently for some reason they don't like betas, but there is a bunch of threads on it with the recommended fix for now but I'm sure it be beta 3 or 4, or even the public release eventually it'll be fixed but that's why I'm using Samsung messages for now because no issues with that at all for chat or anything
