Before the UI update, when the task switcher is open, you could tap on empty space and it would return you to the previous screen. It makes it very simple to return to what you were doing if you accidentally open the task switcher.

Disagree. When you open task switcher from within an app, touching the empty space brings you back to the home screen. It is annoying.

Is there an option for that maybe? Because I just tried it and I couldn't make it work... When pressing on an empty space while on app switcher, does nothing for me... I have to actually press something..

Clarification: This is only the case if you open the task switcher from within an app
