They update under Googles conditions. Sometimes it's better to check every once in a while. My Pixel 8Pro is still behind and when I check for update says there is none.
Google is an incompetent company. Nearly every bad thing with our devices is due to them, and most of the fixes for those problems come from samsung patching googles nonsense.
Best part is, phone might on rare occasion download the update, never tell you about it and it's pending until you reboot device, possibly from bugcheck or in accident
Honestly it should check how much you're behind and them download all updates in bulk then install. Windows somehow figured that out.
