Photo capture while in video

I've noticed I can get some awesome shots in by turning on video and capturing photos while doing so. The exposure, depth of field, and quality seems to get a bump up in comparison to taking the same shot in photo mode.

Anyone else noticed or tried this?

If you want to show the difference, the only way to do that is to:

* Use a photo mode to take a shot

* Use video mode, then take the *same* shot (same time, angle, etc)

Post both images ... posting the one image does not provide a frame of reference for comparison

Idk. I know how a Samsung takes a picture. And the above one looks really good.

.
We also don't know which phone the OP is using, so can't compare.

For example, if the OP is using an Ultra, and others are using a 21, the comparison won't always be apples to apples.

And vice-versa, if OP is using 21, and others are using Ultra, the Ultra users will sometimes see better quality.

With that said, it's an interesting concept, though a side by side comparison is the best "convincer"
