Is there a way I'm not seeing you darken the widget? It's a bit too see through for my liking...

Mine shows up like that maybe try to change the transparency in lockscreen settings. I am also adding a screenshot of my settings; maybe that helps

I have my settings the same as you actually! I guess it's a bug?

Yeah, it could be maybe try it with some other app that plays music and if it shows up as transparent then it could be a bug
