My Galaxy 4 Wearable is giving me inaccurate Heart Rates, especially in the high end. It shows spikes, even on a gentle walk in good weather. The first time it happened, it spiked to 186 BPM, and alarmed my primary doctor. A subsequent visit to a cardiologist feared I have Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib).

After months of tests and monitoring, I could not replicate the condition until I had a LOOP Heart Recorder Implant. I detected a 180+ spike and recorded the incident!

I immediately made an appointment to see what was happening. To my consternation, the Cardiologist stated that the 182 BPM reading was wrong, as my LOOP recorded BPN NEVER exceeded 130! Then, I put on another brand of wearable watch on my other wrist, and have since then confirmed the Galaxy erroneous readings!

Three months ago, with the advice of a Samsung helpdesk, I reuploaded the Galaxy software, and I have regularly obtained software updates, and yet the spiking continues. And I see in this forum that the condition reported by Feb 2022 Miyagi007 Cosmic Ray "Heart rate wildly inaccurate after recent software update" is supposed to be "Solved." Apparently, judging from my experience it has not been solved.

Today, I again consulted the Samsung Galaxy helpdesk and did a thorough update. Hopefully, this time it works, and I will update this forum entry in the next week or so if the update works this time.

I am a seizure patient and I found this out the hard way πŸ˜ͺ My career is in Emergency Medicine. Thankfully I wasn't relying solely on this watch or I wouldn't be here to tell you my story.
It's not just the heart rate that's an issue, either. It's the entire set up. My EKGs were reading "Normal Sinus Rhythm" with a HR of 75 and O2 of 98%... I WAS ACTUALLY IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AS A PATIENT, after a massive grand Mal seizure.
I was nowhere NEAR stable, MY HR was actually 121 bpm... my EKG was "Tachycardia with Premature Ventricular Contractons/ and runs of Atrial Fibrillation" . . EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and FATAL if not treated quickly. I watched my ER monitors along with my watch tracking. . Not one single value that my watch detected was correct!!!
I surely hope no one is actually relying solely on this!
I got it solely for the "Detect Hard Falls" and Emergency S.O.S. Features due to my disorder.
Not one of them work as samsung boasts!! It's useless other than keeping time.
Please πŸ™πŸ» DO NOT rely on this!
