I've noticed that the fingerprint scanner is less efficient and sometimes struggles to read my fingerprint for the lock screen and samsung pay.

Which phone do you have? 🤔
For me, I have s21+, and I don't think there's any issues with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

S21 standard. I've recently downgraded back to ONE UI 3 to see if there's a difference, and I noticed that there's no issues with ONE UI 3. Now, with the ONE UI 4, it sometimes fails to read my finger and requires multiple attempts.

I know this isn't a fix but it has helped me, try registering 2 sets of prints with each finger or thumb.
