I've had the white death screen on my galaxy s20 plus the past few days. How do I fix it? I've tried soft rebooting it but it didn't do anything. It randomly went back to normal for a few minutes but then the white screen returned. I plan on upgrading my phone after I get this resolved. Anybody have any tips or suggestions that would be great.

I highly recommend visiting a Samsung authorized service center, like uBreakiFix, for an evaluation. Diagnostics are usually free. It's possible the phone just needs the OS reflashed, but it could also be hardware related. They will be able to tell for sure and provide you options to get this issue resolved.

How long does these types of repairs take?

The technicians would first need to find out what the problem is, then they will offer you an estimated timeframe. If it's just the OS, it would likely be less than 30 minutes. Hardware repairs might be a day or longer.

Thank you for the help. I'll look into seeing if I can get it fixed. I'm ready to throw the phone into the trash. 😞

I had to get my Galaxy s20 plus phone screen replaced. The tech explained that the update fried my current cellphone chip. I'm glad I got it working again! Whew!

Wow, that's crazy that an update caused the screen to go out! I'm happy you found out the problem and successfully accomplished the repair though! Thanks for keeping us updated!

Thanks, I went to a second repair shop since the first one didn't have the phone screen in stock.
