No Longer Seamlessly Displaying Art Mode with Apple TV 4K

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

I am having the same issue with 1520. Was working great, now it’s not working. I would return this TV in a heartbeat if able. It’s embarrassing to have sold my wife on this, it work flawlessly, then breaks due to an “update”. Samsung please please allow us to revert firmware.

I would also return mine in a second if I could. Mine is only a year old and the TV's core functionality (displaying art) just does not work.   It DID work before the most recent firmware updates.

Something new happening. Now it’s making ATV 4K output as standard HD 1080p. I have to reboot ATV to get 4K HDR10+ back again. Happened twice now. It’s a new ATV4k and HDMI cable check with ATV passes. Another issue from this new firmware.

Same here, this software is JUNK.  I thought it was bad originally, total bloatware  UI.  The only thing I want to show in art mode is stuff I put on not paid stuff that Samsung wants.  I’d pay $200 to get rid of this  UI and just give me a basic input menu + photos.  I just don’t understand how this can be so bad.  Then they brick auto art mode via firmware.  I want a refund.

1000%  Just simplify the UI to the few core features people want.  I wish I could disable or delete all the software except for Art Mode and the AppleTV connection.

How about a settings menu that only has the settings that are actually available on the device? It’s complete that half of the menu items are greyed out. ?

Same issue new with 1520, Chromecast and Xbox no longer work with off/sleep CEC. Chromecast no longer works with CEC volume. The tech when I called said this was Microsoft and Google's issue and not Samsungs. Sounds like it's also Nintendo and Apple. It's crazy that everyone else's devices are broken and definitely not Samsung even though it was all working as expected before this firmware update. I feel really dumb for allowing this TV to auto update. 1520 broke the TV. I don't care about Samsung software, I just want my devices connected with HDMI to work.

Same issue here, workaround only resolves the next power off. Please fix the problem Samsung. Also please add a setting to toggle the power off signal from a device like Apple TV between art mode and standby. I just want to turn my tv all the way off with one remote.
