How can I configure my Z Fold 7 to automatically dial a 1 when calling from outside of the US? Every phone I have had has an option for this (including numerous Samsung phones) but my Z Fold 7 does not since it updated to One UI 8.5. It is a real pain to have to lookup phone numbers just so I can manually dial a country code when calling home from abroad and I'd really prefer to not have to edit every contact just to add a 1 to hundreds of phone numbers in my contacts.
Tap the More options icon (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner.
Select Settings.
Scroll down and tap on Other call settings.
Tap on Roaming assistance.
Switch the toggle to On, then tap into the menu and select Always add code of country/region you are located in or configure it to target your Home Country (United States)
That was one of the first places I looked and where most info I found pointed to. The Roaming Assistance option doesn't exist. My Z Fold 7 on AT&T only has 'Hide Contacts without numbers', 'Swipe to call or text', and 'Hearing aid compatibility' options under the 'Other call settings' since the One UI 8.5 update.
Hello, @AtomicTaco. Welcome to the Samsung Community! The settings provided by @Light76 would be the proper settings, if these options do not appear in your menu, more than likely the carrier has blocked them. Some US carriers (especially on carrier-locked models) disable the native Android/Samsung assisted dialing menus to force the use of their own roaming networks or international packages. I would recommend reaching out to your carrier to submit feedback.

I have checked 3 other Samsungs, all except mine are unlocked and purchased through different carriers, and none of them have the setting referenced here. All 4 devices have received the UI 8.5 update. I am looking for one that hasn't been updated to see if it has the setting. My wife's S24 Ultra was purchased through US Cellular and we are currently using it on a different carrier so it's not locked into a carrier.
