Pull down notifications disappeared

To the left of my Note 10+ 5G front camera, starting from the far left, I see the time and icons of notifications I've received. However, when I pull down, I don't see my notifications, only the first row of buttons, brightness and two options "media" and "devices". 

None of the notifications are there. This is a critical issue for me as I have many email accounts and several medical applications that I need the notifications to show so that I know what's happening. 

They used to be there and disappeared after the last system update.

I would try clearing the cache partition:

1. Turn off the Note 10+. 
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
3. Once the Android Recovery screen comes up, release the buttons.
4. Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting ‘Wipe cache partition.’
5. Press the Power button to select ‘Wipe cache partition.’
6. Use Volume Down to highlight Yes.
7. Press the Power button to confirm the action to clear the cache.
8. Wait for a second as the system wipes the cache.
9. Press the Power button again to reboot the device. This will return the device to the normal interface.
