How do I delete contacts from the Messages Contacts?

I have noticed my message contacts has old unnecessary contacts....how do I delete them from the message contact list?

As stated above, Messages uses the contacts from the Contacts app.  Open the Contacts app and delete the unwanted contacts and then restart your phone.
