I have Do Not Disturb set to start and stop at specific times. A few months ago I began to hear the notification sound after DND kicked in. I have notifications set to both status bar and sound. When the sound breaks through DND, there is no notification on the status bar. I've set all but the most essential apps to silent, but something is still coming through.
The only solution I have found is to manually silence notifications using the volume down button. That means I have to remember to put it back on the next morning, but I often forget.
How do I find it and turn it off? Is it a system notification?
Is the notification from a specific app or all apps? Is it your default notification sound or a custom sound? Is it at random times? Nothing should come through dnd except what you allow.
If you are hearing a sound and no notification, you might want to download Good Lock and the Nice Catch module. Set it to turn on sound history. You can then check the sound history to see which app made the sound. If you don't want to download another app, you can go to settings/notifications/advanced features/notification history and see what the last notification was where you did not get an actual notification bubble. Even with dnd on, you should still get a notification in your notification area with no sound. You can also create a routine to mute your notification sounds during the same time period you have do not disturb on. That way you will not have to remember to turn it on or off.
Thanks for your advice. I looked at notification history. The notifications from last night do not show a time, so I don't know which ones came in after dnd kicked in. I will look this morning after dnd turns off.
"Even with dnd on, you should still get a notification in your notification area with no sound." That's correct, I do see a notification icon. However, I look as soon as I do hear a sound, and there is no notification icon! That's why I don't know where it's coming from.
