I just opened my phone and realized Samsung wants us to switch to Google messages. I am not ok with this. This is a dumb idea. Google messages did not work well when I 1st bought my phone and I'm sure it doesn't work any better now. Please let us keep the option for Samsung messages. I'm sure many Samsung users feel the same way.

Galaxy S23Notice that they never returned with a response. Probably looked at the stats and discovered it was not, in fact, Google messages causing drain - or their battery returned to normal.

Galaxy S23I don't believe that Google messages was the reason for your battery drain. Even if it used slightly more battery than usual (which is none), while reindexing and updating, it would not drain in an hour. As @Pianodude58 requested, show your battery usage statistics and let's see what's really using the battery. Make sure you tap the calendar row at the top, to show us the use on the date you claim (since today is a new day) You can also see how much battery the app actually used by going to the app information screen (apps/Messages) and scrolling down to battery usage and see if and how much battery the app used. Even though I use Google messages (for years and years) daily, it never shows in my battery usage statistics.
