I just downloaded the apk file of quick share extension made by Google. But i have no idea if this works.

You'll need updated Quick Share, Play Services, and Play system for AirDrop compatibility. You may also have to wait until stable 8.5 is released:

That article does not mention that you also need the Google Quick Share Extension.

No, but that should also deploy with the appropriate Play Services update.

No, it doesn't work. I did the same on my other 2 Samsung devices. I can see the share on apple devices, but it will only be a server side update.

So did I, unfortunately you can't sideload the Google Play System update that turns it on.

Running Play Services correct version, both Quick Share updates.

Unless there is some secret way to sideload Google Play System update that turns it on, we will just have to wait.

I have 8.5, current update with Google play and quick share, but did not get the airdrop feature with the newest software update
