Are you still on the 8.5 Beta? The stable version has been released and depending on your carrier should be available to you. In the meantime, have you tried deleting the alarm and trying to set a new one? When setting the new alarm schedule, I would double-check the sound is turned on by going into alarm sound and make sure the volume slider is all the way turned up. Also try checking that alarms aren't silenced when system sound is turned off. You can check this by tapping the three dots in the top right corner, go into settings, make sure 'silence alarms when system sound is off' is turned to the OFF position.
