It appears that Samsung has currently restricted the 24-megapixel setting in the camera assistant to the S26 series. This does not seem to be a hardware limitation, as the setting is accessible within the Expert RAW application.

I hope that once UI 8.5 is released for other devices, Samsung will extend this setting to all devices that do not have hardware limitations in the camera assistant.

Unconscionable if they do this.

Zero technical reason to do so. If they do, it will only prove the deliberate gatekeeping of features that other devices should also be able to enjoy.

Do they actually think they're going to sell more s26 series phones because of a 24 megapixel setting in camera assistant ridiculous!

I was wondering about the 24-mexapixel setting. Kept reading about it on different posts, but never could find it on the camera assistant app. At least I know I am only partially nuts.

Unfortunately I don't have access to Expert RAW on my S25 FE. Guess I'll wait for the S27 Ultra.
