I use the app drawer or app screen the one where you swipe up and you have select apps there . I am trying to add an app from my home screen into the app drawer and can not figure this out. I have looked it up many different ways and the only thing I find is how to remove and app from home screen not move to app drawer . Anyone know how to do this ?

Any app you add to  your phone is automatically added to the app drawer.  You copy them from the app drawer to the home screen and arrange your apps the way you prefer.  You cannot "transfer" an app from the home screen to the app drawer.  If you don't see an app you know is on your phone in the app drawer, it may be hidden.  In the search bar in the app drawer search for it.  When you find it, unhide it if its hidden.  If you don't want the app on your home screen, just long press the app, and tap "remove".  It won't remove it from your phone, but it will remain in the app drawer.

What app are you unable to locate in your app drawer?

Just like I already stated, the home screen is basically an overlay to the app drawer - one does not even have to use it all, especially if they only want to organize their apps in alphabetical order. The app drawer is the container for all the apps you have on your phone.  You actually have your screens organized the opposite of the intent.  The home screen would be where your most frequently used apps go and the app drawer is where ALL the apps go.  When you add an app to the home screen, the app is not removed from the app drawer, a shortcut to the app is created on the home screen. They will ALWAYS appear in the app drawer (unless they are hidden).  This is why you can add them to the home screen manually, but not to the app drawer. If you are looking for certain Samsung apps, don't forget that Samsung has decided to do away with the Samsung prefix on their apps, so they may not be  in the place you expect them to be.  Weather is hidden by default and you have to add the visibility in the app drawer through the app settings.  Select Samsung apps are automatically populated into the Samsung folder at the top of the app drawer. Same with select Google apps.  If you can't find the app in the app drawer by sight or name, search for it.

Is this your first phone?  The app and home screens work the same across all Android devices, regardless of brand.

The only app I can think of that would do this is a website shortcut, or you have the app in your app drawer but it's hidden.

Long press or pinch in on your home screen. Tap the "settings" gear in the lower right. Scroll down and tap the "hide apps" option. If any apps are hidden, tap them to bring them back, and tap "done" in the upper right.
