Been having this happen on my s26 ultra, wanted to know if this was normal. The first picture is on regular 1X zoom - 50 megapixels the second one is 5x zoom - 50 megapixels. Is it supposed to blur this intensely. How do I take close up shots of things without it blurring like this?

use macro mode for close ups - that's what it's for.

I didn't realize there was an icon. I just go to the mode settings and choose macro mode. I suspect the use a flower because many people take closeups of nature. Would you rather they use an insect?

The photograph was captured with a telephoto zoom lens at an insufficient distance from the subject.

When you get too close to anything
...the camera bugs out and just goes blurry... s24 never did this

When you want to take an extreme closeup of anything from close range, you are supposed to switch to macro mode - that's what it's for and it will prevent the blur and give sharper focus to objects in close range.  The S26 is not the S24, so what worked for you before may not necessarily work now.  Different camera, different lenses.  It shouldn't have worked before, unless on the S24 it automatically shifted to macro mode (some cameras do that).
