Issue getting sound notifications

Hello! Recently switched from an S23 to S26. I used the Samsung app to migrate my data from the old phone, which worked perfectly. 

However, I noticed that on the S26, I get notification pop ups but no accompanying sound for the apps I configured via notification categories when the screen is not on or awake. 

After following several troubleshooting steps, I still couldn't get the sound notifications to work so I ended up resetting the general management settings and app notification preferences, which resolved the issue.

However, once I started customizing the notification sounds via notification categories, the sound notifications stopped working again-- at least for messages. I tested and confirmed this a couple of times. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Maybe a bug??

I just applied a software update today, which didn't fix the issue.

I was finally able to resolve this issue by doing a reset all settings (not factory reset). Found out that the behavior of my old phone / watch combo was different with my s26. The settings were transferred from my s23 since I used the smart switch. By doing the reset, it removed the setting that was preventing the notifications. It's a bit of a pain but I'm hearing notifications now with no issues. Hope this helps!

same problem here, so far I'm not impressed with the phone. have no audio from my security cameras either.

I have a similar bug with my GW8 - all notifications are enabled but no reaction on my watch. Seems like issues might be related. I've factory reset my watch, reset the apps and nothing helps.

Same here. Tried everything and sometimes don't get the message at all. And if I do get the message the is no sound or noticication. Driving me crazy. Thinking about going back to my old phone. 
Also got the new watch Galaxy Watch 8 classic. Also went back to old watch. Why do companies bring out new products that cost so much and are not as good as previous model ๐Ÿ˜ž

I switched from an S23 Ultra/watch combo to an S26 Ultra/watch combo and was experiencing the same issue, which was frustrating! Today, I found a setting inside the Wearable app for my watch that solved the problem.

The notification setting on the watch in the Wearable app has two options: "smart device selection" and "always show on both." Switching the setting to "always show on both" fixed this issue for me.
