Samsung been hanging out with Microsoft to long, they're spying on their users. And not trying to hide it either. Why would I need to sign in just to use secure folder or share files from one of my device to other when that never was a thing, now they're forcing users.
It wouldn't be long now before I ditch this brand for someone who care about their customers!

Are you saying a password or other option shouldn't be used

Don't you find your tin foil hat a bit to warm?

How do you figure that being required to sign into your *secure* folders and sharing apps equals spying?  The security measures are for the protection of your privacy.  If you do not want security, do not create the secure folder - what's the point of that anyway if you don't require security? Also, remove all security from your phone so you don't even have to enter a PIN to get to your stuff.  Let everybody who can grab your phone have access.

The whole point of creating a password for the secure folder, is that is should be a separate password from what unlocks your phone because people are too trusting of their friends, relatives and SOs and share passwords.  The point is to keep certain things private from those they share passwords with.  Protecting the share action also prevents someone with access to your phone from accessing your data and sharing it to their device.  This in no way, indicates that Samsung (or Microsoft, as you mention) is spying on you.

@AAbbott Thanks.. You make a really solid point here. A lot of people jump to conclusions about โ€œspying,โ€ but what youโ€™re describing is just basic security doing its job. The whole idea of having a separate password for secure folders makes total sense, especially in situations where people share access to their phones.

I also like how you explained the protection around sharing actions, thatโ€™s something many people overlook, but itโ€™s actually a key part of keeping data safe. Overall, this is a clear and practical take on why these features exist..
