We do not allow spam on Samsung Community. Spam is any unsolicited communication sent in bulk. Some spam is harmless, though annoying, but sometimes it can be fraudulent and malicious. Spam spreads in a number of ways:
- It can be automated (published by bots or scripts) or
- coordinated (when a spammer posts repeatedly the same content or uses multiple accounts to spread content)
- Hate speech is defined as a direct attack against people on the basis of what we call protected characteristics, such as race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, religious affiliation, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, age, etc. Hate speech is an attack as dehumanizing speech; statements of inferiority, expressions of contempt or disgust, cursing, and calls for exclusion or segregation.
- We also prohibit the use of harmful stereotypes, which we define as dehumanizing comparisons that have historically been used to attack, intimidate, or exclude specific groups, and that are often linked with offline violence.
- We prohibit the use of slurs that are used to attack people on the basis of their protected characteristics.
When someone online deliberately tries to upset or provoke others. May use offensive, inflammatory, or irrelevant comments, personal attacks, or false information to cause confusion or controversy.
- Examples: mocking or discrediting others, inciting arguments, spreading false information, making offensive comments, repeating comments
Spreading Misinformation / Conspiracies
The act of sharing false or inaccurate information, whether intentionally or not.
- Examples
- Fabricated content: completely false content
- Manipulated content: genuine content that has been distorted (clickbait)
- Imposter content: impersonation of genuine sources
- Misleading content: comment presented as a fact, but misleading information
- False context: factually accurate, combined with false contextual information
- False connections: when titles or headlines do not support the content
Any content that goes against U.S. laws, copyrights, and trademark laws will be removed. This also includes any virus, malware, tracking software, or other harmful or deleterious software.
Members should engage in respectful and courteous communication at all times, avoiding insults, harassment, or demeaning language. When offering criticism, it should be constructive and aimed at helping and improving, rather than disparaging or belittling.
Practice due diligence before clicking links that might be suspicious and report any comment you deem a potential risk or that violates any of the Terms &Conditions. Report by clicking “Report Inappropriate Content” in the post.
No impersonating of a Samsung employee, moderator, admin on the Community, or Samsung-affiliated technician.
- Do NOT use hate speech in your username
- Do NOT use profanity or vulgar terms in your username
- Do NOT use “Samsung” in your username unless you are approved by an Admin
- Do NOT use celebrity or influencer usernames without permission
Political discussions will be removed unless deemed relevant to the topic. Please refrain from using political statements or making generalized statements regarding specific government officials or political parties (Democrat, republican, etc.)
We restrict the display of nudity or any sexual activity, direct or indirect. This includes signage, language, photos, links, videos, or computer-generated images that may be seen in a suggestive or sexualized context.
Harassing the Community staff will not be allowed. This includes any moderation actions, warnings, or suspensions related to one’s account or others. It is not permitted to discuss or repost content that has previously been removed.
The act of publicly revealing private or personal information about an individual, company, or internal content without consent, often with malicious intent. It is a violation of privacy and can have serious consequences for the individual targeted.
- Examples: releasing a personal photo of an individual; posting a person’s phone number and/or address; releasing information about a person’s family, place of employment, or other private documents; encouraging others to release information to harass an individual.
Overall, Samsung reserves the right to moderate the activity on the Community and may remove or edit any content for any or no reason, including removing or editing content that in Samsung’s sole discretion violates these Community Terms or any applicable provision of the Terms and Conditions.
