KitchenThis past summer, I cooked a baked potato in my microwave and it went up in flames. The sensor did not stop it from continuing to cook and the smoke vented into my house instead of outdoors. We put the fire out with a fire extinguisher can. When the technicians came to inspect, one spotted the source of the fire in the vent being faulty, the other told me to use the microwave it was fine. The second round of technicians boiled water in it and told me it was fine and left. After much debate with the corporate office, they came back to replace the vent, after the report showed that was the faulty issue; yet I was told to use it! It took months to fix and endless explanations that I do in fact know how to properly cook a baked potato! This incident was not just frightening but stressful and my family doesnโt feel safe using it. I donโt see why it wasnโt replaced as it is under warranty, not even a year old. I was very disappointed on how this was handled.
