Hi All -

Just purchased and set up a QLED TV (Q7F). I had the option of setting up with either Alexa or Bixby as a virtual assistant and chose Bixby because from what I had read I would have more functionality using Bixby for actual TV functions. More than just turn off/on, volume, and pause.

My first question is: Shouldnโ€™t I be able to use Bixby by voice only  by using a โ€œwake up commandโ€ like โ€œHey Bixbyโ€ go to____., rather than having to press the mic button on the remote?

You can check your TV settings to see if a voice wake-up mode is available to you. This will depend on whether your specific model is equipped with a far-field microphone in the TV itself.

A cursory search does seem to indicate that this feature may be unavailable for the Q7F.

If your specific model does not offer a voice wake-up mode, you will need to use a connected device such as your Galaxy phone or a smart speaker with SmartThings integration.

You need to connect it to a HUB either Google or Alexa. Use smart things to connect account. I can control opening apps like Disney+ and playing episodes on Netflix through google.
