LaundryI have a 1 1/2 year old front loading washer, model WF45B6300AP/US. I'm not sure it is working correctly from the beginning. My concern is water level during the wash cycle and rinse cycle. It seems awfully low. I have tried to select the highest soil level setting as suggested in something I read, but it did not seem to do anything. The water added during the wash cycle doesn't cover the content to be washed. This is particularly pronounced when washing king size bed sheets (top, bottom and pillow cases). I watched it on a recent cycle and the water came nowhere near covering the contents. Then what water there was got absorbed by the sheets as the wash cycle progressed. A little after the wash cycle began, I could see the bottom of the drum and there was no water visible.
I base my concern on laundromat machines I have used where the water covers the contents and does a good job of washing.
So can anyone tell me why the wash and rinse cycles I observe are okay with very little water, or does the machine have a water level settings problem?

Hello @txlombardi, thank you for reaching out to the Community we are glad that you stopped! we understand your concerns with the amount of water that fills the unit. Samsung washing machines use various technologies to minimize how much water is used. Automatic temperature control also reduces how much hot water is used by mixing in cold water as much as possible. In addition, Samsung washing machines are high efficiency (HE) and use significantly less water than previous generations while still getting your clothes clean. If water isn't entering your washing machine, it will typically display an error code. Have you received any error messages from the unit?

LaundryNo, there are no error codes appearing. The water level seems extremely low when you consider that bed sheets absorb what little water there is, which leaves free flowing water non-existent. I'm having trouble understanding how this could enable a cycle that provides truly clean sheets or other clothes for that matter.

LaundryHigh efficiency washers use much less water than regular washers. It may seem like it's not enough to do the job, but somehow it does. You have the machine for 1 1/2 years, and you are just now noticing this? Have your clothes been getting clean? Is it a front loader or a top loader? Front loaders use much less water than top loaders, even in non HE machines. HE machines became the norm quite awhile ago, since not only are more and more jurisdictions are charging water and sewage fees, but areas have been experiencing droughts.

LaundryI have noticed the water level issue from the beginning. I proceeded on the premise that it is supposed to be that way until recently when a pair of jeans came out of wash with crusted food, which had been dropped on them before they were washed. The washer was not able to remove the food. Another wash cycle, which I watched, showed the same jeans were on top of the load and barely wet during the cycle.
It was then that I started looking closer and found that the sheets were barely wet during the wash cycle. The sheets have been coming out of the washer from the start fairly dry after the entire cycle completes. I'm assuming the spin cycle removes what little water is on the sheets.

LaundrySometimes HE machines don't quite cut it with some dirt, especially if you overload it. If food spills on something, or someone bleeds, it's best to pre-treat the item (Shout Gel is great for that), before throwing it in the wash. Washing machines are not dishwashers, so if the food spot is actual food, not just a stain, it should be scraped off and then pre-treated. Blood should ALWAYS be pre-treated, HE machine or not. HE machines sense the size of the load and fills accordingly, unlike non HE machines which fill to a certain level regardless how much laundry is is the machine.
As I said, if you have a front loader, it's using much less water in the first place than a top loader, and a front loader should NEVER be more than 3/4 full. In the case of king size bedding, it's best to do more than one load if it's going to be too large a load. If you cannot see space through the window, the load is too much.
