Discontinuing Samsung messenger is the wrong move. Themes and fonts that people paid for are not accessible through Google messages. But on top of that despite android being google owned a lot of people do not want google ingrained in everything we do. I deleted my personal google account a few years ago and use a dupe which you shouldn't need to do to use certain features, the only google apps I use are the play store and maps. I much prefer Samsung messages and if I wanted google everything I would've bought a pixel. I know there are other app choices but why is a third party needed for a basic cellphone function

Samsung Apps and ServicesYeah, I can see it now - "why did I wake up to Google messages as my default messaging app? What happened to Samsung messages?" I'm either going to decline to engage or just pick one master thread and comment there instead of "feeding the weeds".

Samsung Apps and ServicesDon't speak for me. You can only speak for yourself. So, don't say *nobody* likes it. I, personally, like Google messages very much. It has served me very well for the last decade. It is also the most used messaging app among Android users.

Samsung Apps and ServicesRegarding the sentiment that "NOBODY LIKES IT," it is important to consider that a vast number of individuals might hold a differing opinion. It is generally advisable to refrain from making broad generalizations on behalf of the majority. While Samsung Message users may express their views quite vocally, they represent a relatively small segment of the overall user base.
In the weeks following Samsung's announcement about the discontinuation of their messaging application, I have personally engaged with numerous Samsung device owners. A significant number of them were already utilizing Google Messages, appreciating its enhanced compatibility with iPhones. I assisted six of these individuals in transitioning their devices, and they expressed considerable satisfaction with the change. Only two individuals conveyed significant distress regarding the news.
While this analysis may not adhere to strict scientific methodology, I believe it offers a reasonably accurate insight into the general sentiment among Samsung device owners, encompassing users of both A series and S series devices.
