Making external sd card tablet device storage

I got a 512gb for my tablet. I want to make it the device storage since my tab only have 32gb. How can this be done?   Thanks a bunch

Go into the about sections of settings and repeatedly tap on the software build number to enable developer options, then enable all the "force allow on external storage" options.

When I turn off developer mode it turns off the force allow on external.storage. do I keep it in the developers mode?? Thanks a bunch

There's really no reason to turn developer mode off after you change it. It might revert the settings to default. I'm not really sure because enabling developer options is one of the first things I do on any Android device.
