Ok, I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but I think I might have a good idea for a new taskbar option for New Dex that might make it feel a bit more like a desktop interface. Ever since OneUI7, it introduced the new floating taskbar, which has a pretty nice design. However, you can only use it when you are not using Samsung Dex. So, why not add the option to turn the taskbar into a dock, while in New Dex? it would be a bit smaller to keep the spatious feel of a desktop interface.
If Samsung could add this in a future update, or at least add it as a Home Up module, that would make New Dex feel a bit more like a desktop environment.
