Samsung A16 lags when doing anything on the phone

When using apps, on internet etc and switch between them or simply doing basic things my phone will run slow

A16, best example phone was just in lock screen put pin in it took so long to move out of lock screen when home screen came up phone went into rest mode had to enter pin again. Also every time I restart for optimization or shut it off at night. When I power up a icon with a ice crystals symbol is in upper left corner when I looked it up search results said its the lock screen iconn

Since the A16 only has 4GB of RAM, you will experience lag when opening the phone due to it refreshing the apps you have opened in the background, and also when you switch between apps. The A16 is pretty much using all of its memory just to run the phone. My S26U has 12GB, and I'm using 9GB all the time. I've can't remember ever seeing a ice crystal icon on my phone.

Might be a snow flake i think it maybe related to smart things.

Yeah maybe, The only time I remember a snowflake is when the weather is snowing and the weather app has a alert hopefully its not a blizzard at your location.

When you boot up your phone you may briefly see a smart things "snowflake" icon, because Smart Things starts when the phone starts up.

I said *may*.  I see it very briefly and only if I'm watching the boot.  I also usually see a brief notification that says "smart things is running".  I never see Smart Things in my battery usage, though, so maybe it only starts to detect if there's any linked devices or for updates.  I do not know, as while my smart devices can be controlled by my phone or watch, they are on timers in other apps.
