File Explorer is not finding files when I plug in Z Flip 7

I have a Z Flip 7 that I just factory reset as well as my pc with no log. When I plug my phone into my pc, I click the phone in file explorer, external storage, and get a message that says "This file folder is empty". I want to be able to view all of my photos and videos so I can move them to my hard drive. The phone pops up just fine when I plug it into my husband's laptop.

PC side:

• Windows 11

• Latest Samsung drivers installed (earlier today)

• No faulty USB ports or cable (Check each several times and swapped cables as needed. Also connected my husbands phone and his popped up no issues)

• File explorer is set to show hidden items

• Checking the properties of folders display that they contain no data while on my phone the same folder is populated with documents/images/videos/etc

Phone Side:

• Updated version

• Hit allow on the access data screen

• Access through my files displays fully populated folders

• USB setting for transferring files, the setting to transfer images did nothing

• USB control can not be given to the connected device, in this case my PC

• Phone is unlocked and kept unlocked

If you factory reset your phone, the photos are no longer on your device. If you didn't turn Google backup off, you can go to photos.google.com and download them directly to your P C. If you didn't have Google backup on, sorry to say, your photos are gone. The time to offload your photos would have been before the reset. Your Samsung auto backup does not save your photos, because Google does.

I’m not looking for old photos before I reset it. I’ve since added new ones but still cannot find the files

They shold still be in Google photos. Google sorts by date, so they should be on top. You can also try transfer by reverse, by opening my files on your phone, selecting the picture folder snd then seeing if you can move them to the PC.

I move thousands of files at once so the easiest most practical route is to drag and drop files. I'm not necessarily trying to find any old photos, I just need my phone to be able to be discoverable in file explorer.

You can drag and drop from either device. Did you make sure that auto block is off? If it is on, it will prevent any action other than charging via USB, including being able to view the contents of the phone.

Here buddy, I had the same issue, these dead fish have no idea. Check this link, trust me it's safe it's a YT tutorial. I have no idea why Samsung made it difficult to access the phone, but mine is now 100% discoverable after following this guide. This stupid site won't allow links, type this into YouTube
