I have the Samsung Zfold 4 right now but thinking of upgrading to the 7 or going for the S26 Ultra. I love that the fold is a mini tablet but i don't like that the screen is so small compared to any other phone. Can anyone give me feedback on these 2? If it was you which one would you pick and why?
@Keras_Creations If you love the mini-tablet and folding experience you won't get that with a S26 Ultra. I have both a Fold 7 and a S25 Ultra. They are both great devices but my daily driver is the Fold 7.
@LongHiker I do know that the Ultra does not have the folding ability. My main question was which of those 2 phones would you rather have and why. I guess I wasn't all that clear in my original post. My fault on that one, but thank you for your feedback, what you said does help still.
If you don't mind me asking why is it that you go to the Fold 7 over the 25 Ultra and why you have both phones (I also have 2, one is my work phone & other is my personal phone)? I had a ZFold 5 for two years and found the outer screen to be too narrow for comfortable use. Last summer I traded it in for a ZFold 7 and I have been very happy with the new phone since I got it. Its outter screen is much more user-friendly, proportioned like a slab phone's screen. I find myself only unfolding the phone when I want to multitask or view pictures or videos.
Thank you @neilth for your feedback. I agree with you on the narrow screen which is the same for my zfold4. I was wondering if the 7 was bigger and more on the "normal" side in screen size. I do enjoy the fold for everything it offers but the "closed" screen size is one of the main reasons I was looking to move to the 25/26ultra. Also, is it true there is no more s-pen with the ZFold 7? Did you even use the s-pen before with your Z5? If so, what is your thoughts about no longer having it? Can you still use those universal touch pens with your z7? Yes, the aspect ratio of the ZFold 7's outer screen is close to the slab phone's aspect ratio, reducing the necessity to unfold the phone. Samsung eliminated the screen layer which was required to support the S Pen, which many users complained about. I did use an S Pen with my ZFold 5, but not frequently. If you buy a ZFold 7, you will be amazed at how thin it is without a case on it. I highly recommend that you get Samsung Care+ protection for the ZFold 7, the investment is worth having for such a great phone.
