Secure Folder requires lock screen protection in order to access feature

I have a settings question... This has been a back and forth thing for me. I used to be able to have my Secure Folder password protected without having to have any kind of Lock Screen Security. Get a new device, now I need Lock Screen security. My last two devices, I've been able to have my Secure Folder password protected without Lock Screen Wecurity. Just got the Fold 7 and now I need Lock Screen security again. How can I go back to just have it password protected without Lock Screen Security? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I also believe that when you put an app in the secure folder, it places a copy of the app, so deleting or re.oving it feom the folder will not uninstall the app.

I do not believe that is possible, as I saw someone else complaining about that here.  It may be because the folder no longer locks on its own after exiting.  You have to tap the 3 dots and choose lock and exit to now lock the secure folder after using.  If one does not know how that they have to do this, or forgets to do it, not having a pin/password/biometric to lock the phone would leave the unlocked secure folder vulnerable.

Does secure folder in one ui8 not support auto locking when you leave the app? I only see when the screen turns off in settings. Which is a real bummer. The same thing goes for any app in secure folder.

Apparently, they changed it to having to tap the dot menu and select lock & exit.  Not the most intuitive thing they could have done. The least they could have done is put a button for lock & exit.

Exactly. That doesn't work per say for app shortcuts on the home screen though. I hate having to turn the screen off then having to unlock my phone.

The screen timeout/lock is a security measure. If you don't like your screen locking every time it times out, you can remove all security from the device, as the secure folder has its own security, or you can turn on extend unlock to keep your phone unlocked under certain conditions for up to four hours.

How can I delete app out of secure folder without deleting it from the phone

Click and hold on the app in secure folder then click uninstall. It will uninstall the app from secure folder only. Even if you have the same app Installed outside of secure folder.

Hey Everyone,

I set the secure folder auto lock to a set time, for example 5 minutes but each time U go back later and check the setting it's been reset to "when the phone restarts".

Any insights here?
