Took it off the charger at around 6 a.m. and it is now 1 p.m.

Battery is at 44%

Phone is not my original one which I got in 2020. That one green screened.

My Carrier had to send out two replacements before we got me one which worked.

Anyone?

My point about Retirement is that I am living on half what I was income-wise. I no longer have $1,000 plus dollars to put out for a phone when my present phone is doing the job.

Chill, no one is forcing you to buy a new phone unless you want to.    What @CEParsons was imparting was that with the incentives involved in the pre-ordering process, the cost of a new phone comes down dramatically.  Also, even if you wanted to buy a new device with limited financial resources, you can buy a mid or high tier A model for something like 1/3 the price of an S model.

Also, if you are complaining about battery life, then your current phone is obviously not "still doing the job".
