I hate the new update. Now there is a Google search bar that is physically impossible for me to move/remove sitting at the bottom of my screen. I hope they see this and I hope more people complain because it needs to change.
As has been explained in other threads on this topic, simply go into the home screen settings and turn off search. This will take it off your screen and you will be able to add back (or not) any previous search widget you had. It's an abomination, but at least they put in a mechanism to remove it for those (everyone) who don't want it.
In the future, please search the forum topics before posting to make sure there is not an ongoing thread on your subject matter.
