Volume randomly changes

I noticed when I'm listening to any kind of media, whether it be Spotify, YouTube, Netflix (etc), my volume will randomly, ON ITS OWN, get lower. 

It doesn't happen every single time, but frequently enough to question what's going on.

I could have my phone resting on the table (not touching it at all), and the volume will just get lower for no reason. My kid and a friend of mine are experiencing the same thing. Anyone else?

Is there a fix?

Yelp I definitely 100% agree with you about the volume issue because my phone does the same darn thing and all the time I wish I could get a full refund back on My Galaxy Phone for the simple fact that it's needs lots factory defects done too that's for sure because my has more then five to six different factory issue with it, the just randomly out of NOWHERE will quickly happen and just goes right back to normal as if it never happened so I'm just glad that I'm the only with all these darn issues that forsure,,,,,thanks for all the other notices very much!

See if turning of the bluetooth helps. My phone does it too when connected to my Galaxy Watch 5

There might be a setting on your phone that is set to auto volume, to turn down louder music..it's sometimes a safety feature...so Google that!!

Hello, We know how frustrating volume controls can be. Have you tried clearing the cache partition and repairing the apps in the recovery menu?

To get to recovery mode: 
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously 
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET) 
- Use power button to select. 
-Repeat steps 1-3 to access the Recovery menu again to select Repair Apps

Additional, try resetting the settings of the phone. This will not delete your data, only restore the apps to default. 

  • Open the Settings app on your phone
  • Next, tap General Management
  • Now tap Reset
  • Tap the Reset all settings option
  • Review the info that will show up on the screen and then tap Reset all settings
  • If needed, enter your password, your PIN, or your pattern
  • Finally, to confirm the action, tap Reset.
