Apps not playing sound when I'm in a call

After a recent update, all of my apps will not play sounds when I'm in a call - including the Clock app. So my alarms won't go off I've tried downloading Sound Assistant and turning multi sound on, but that didn't work. I've check if alarm/notification sounds is allowed in my call settings, and it is. I think it's some weird bug, but has anyone else experienced this? I don't know what to do..

Hello, welcome to the Community, and thanks for reaching out about sounds from apps not working during calls, and would like to look further into this for you. You said you checked all sounds settings and volumes, as well as alarm and notification settings, but have you tried Safe mode to see if third-party applications are interfering with the device's function? If the app sounds and notifications, including alarms, go off during calls in Safe mode, then uninstall third-party apps and restart to test again until it functions normally. 

If the behavior continues in Safe mode, then it may be time to try a factory reset. Back up everything you can prior (https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00060517/) then perform the factory reset: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician.
