Text messages open up in a smaller screen

Text messages open up in smaller screen. Cannot make box larger. If all other apps are closed then fills back to size of phone screen.

Have you tried to use your fingers to pinch the text message, by using your fingers it expands the text, also check and see if messages is setup for full screen ,go to settings and then display then full screen apps
