All of my group texts through Google Messages suddenly no longer provide an audio notification like my individual texts do. I just updated Google Messages hoping it was a bug that was fixed, but I still have the same problem. I don't see any other options anywhere in my phone that doesn't already allow the notifications. Anyone else having this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.
In your notification settings, do you have notification categories turned on? Settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for each app. If you do, do you have notifications on for incoming messages? If you are getting notifications for single chats, you should be getting them for group texts, however, you can try this: For each group chat you have set it as a conversation and give each it's own notification tone. Open the chat, tap the 3 dots upper right, tap details, tap notifications and then set the notification tone for the chat. You can set the same tone for each group chat (to distinguish them from individual texts) or give each group chat it's own sound so you know which one may be of immediate interest or you can let it wait.
